Scott's man Mark Stewart explains "Tough old day out, was pretty flat out from the start and didn't really let up. The race split into two on the third of the first 5 laps around the start town. Myself, Regan and Canadian Sean made the split of about 40 riders. For the next 60-70km it was pretty grippy with the peloton only 1min behind not keen for the gap to go out."
"On the 3rd of the 6 finish loops, the front group started to split. The three of us managed to cover the moves pretty well. Then 1.5 laps to go, I made the front group of 9 that would stay away till the finish. To be honest I didn't really feel great all day, but managed to just get into the front group, meaning when it came down the sprint I just had nothing left, finishing 9th on the day."
Sean MacKinnon and Regan Gough rolled in with the remainders of the bunch 1"34 down. For two of the team the race acted as fine tuning for the An Post Ras which starts in Ireland this following weekend.
