The champion of Denmark, joined the escapees of the day 10 kilometers from the finish and won the sprint this Saturday during the 4th stage of the Tour of Loir-et-Cher, disputed around Montrichard. He took the yellow jersey at the same time.
Alexander Kamp (Team Veloconcept), the Danish champion, set the knockout on Saturday with the victory as a bonus in the final kilometers of the third stage. After a few escapes are born but are quickly picked up by the peloton- finally, Thomas Vaubourzeix (AVC Aix-en-Provence), Magnus Bak Klaris (Colo Quick-cult), Troels Vinther (Riwal Platform) and Marcus Faglum Karlsson (Team Tre Berg-Postnord) also got away, in pursuit.
The gap went up to 2'00, while the peloton is split into two parts with our boys chasing to try and keep Damien in contention. Then Vinther and Bak Klaris took the lead almost 30 kilometers from the finish line, joined by Rasmus Poulsen, Team Veloconcept Alexander Kamp and Jonas Rasmussen (Colo Quick-cult) 10 kilometers from the line.
It all started in the sprint, and it was Alexander Kamp who made it to the end, ahead of Vinther and Rasmussen. The Dane takes advantage of the yellow jersey to our Damien Shaw, he becomes the new leader of the general classification before the last stage, this Sunday in Blois.
Damien is now 53 seconds down, and now sits 5th on the General Classification going into the final and 5th stage tomorrow.
